I have started one of the most significant projects of my career. What a challenge it is. But I have never feared tackling new challenges. Whether it was an exam, selling produce for my parents’ spaza shop, or getting into the real estate business, there is always a way.
But what I can say about this one is that I haven’t done anything like this before.
It’s been an on-and-off project for a couple of years, but in the last couple of months, I have had the luxury of spending time thinking about it. One can say I have been gathering my thoughts on it. And now … yes, I have now arrived at that place, where I am totally focused on getting it done. Obviously, I want it to be a success, and it should be.
Some projects are like this. You must let them sit for a while; it’s like you need to marinade them.
And then, in a flash, the idea becomes crystal clear. All the issues that perplexed us suddenly evaporate, almost mysteriously. But that is the gift of time.
So I have started down this road. It will be bumpy in some places; in others, smooth sailing. Some parts will be hard to put down on paper; others not.
But despite these challenges and blessings, when I get to the other side, I won’t be quite the same person.
